When applied to an organic enemy, they'll passively emit N-ray radiation waves that damage others near them.
N-Ray (purple): One of the rarer but more effective damage types in the game. Electrocutes humans and stuns auto-mechanical enemies. Shock (blue): Slows the enemies down, giving them sort of a debuff. Corrosion (green): An acidic damage that eats through armor over time and corrodes against flesh enemies. Physical: Basic ballistic damage that is effective against most unarmored enemies. It's not unlike the element system from the Borderlands games. There are five damage types all with unique features. The most favored of these will be the Prismatic Hammer and the Shrink Ray, as they're the easiest to acquire and can help with certain achievements requiring Science Weapons.ĭamage types are weapon effects that can be applied to your weapons through upgrades, and also found on certain unique weapons. Science Weapons: These are unique, one-time spawning weapons of differing varieties with unique special effects. 2, both being extremely high damage weapons encountered much later in the campaign. I'd highly recommend the Light Machine Gun Mk. These weapons can be very effective against heavily armored enemies and tough creatures, especially by the time you reach the planet Monarch, where raptidons and mantisaurs will ratchet up the difficulty. Heavy Weapons: Light machine guns, grenade launchers, and flamethrowers will count for these. #THE OUTER WORLDS 2 HANDED MELEE WEAPONS MODS#
2 and Assault Rifle Ultra will be your best friends during the respective first and second halves of the game, seeing that they tear through anything if they've been upgraded enough and have elemental mods on them. Long Guns: Assault rifles, shotguns, and sniper rifles count under this category. You'll be seeing lots of these during the first few hours of the game, as they'll be the type most readily available to you. Hand Guns: As the name would suggest, these are pistols of differing types that become surprisingly effective if upgraded and used correctly.Two-handed melee weapons will do more damage, at the cost of being slower to swing. One-handed melee weapons will do less damage but swing far more quickly. The only difference here will be the player's dexterity and speed in combat. One and Two-Handed Melee Weapons: As the name would suggest, the melee weapons here can be wielded by the character with either one or two hands. There are six different types of weapons available.
